Cancellation Policy
All retreat payments are non-refundable once received.
If you are unable to attend Sunsets & Second Chances, your booking may be transferred to another couple at no additional transfer fee, provided the transfer is completed by April 1, 2027. The replacement couple must meet all retreat requirements and assume the remaining payment obligations associated with the booking.
After April 1, 2027, bookings are no longer transferable and all payments remain non-refundable.
Trip-cancellation insurance is always recommended; we suggest Travel Guard Insurance, which has several policy options.

May falls within Costa Rica’s green season (or rainy season), but don’t let that deter you! Mornings are typically sunny and warm, with temperatures ranging from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Afternoon showers are common, but they’re usually brief and refreshing, cooling off the lush rainforests and adding to the tropical charm.
We recommend packing:
- Lightweight, breathable clothing for warm weather
- A rain jacket or poncho for afternoon showers
- Comfortable shoes for walking and hiking
- Swimwear
- A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
- Sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat
- A journal for reflection and note-taking
- Any personal wellness items
Yes! Our private chef can accommodate dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other needs. Please let us know your requirements when you register so we can prepare accordingly.
Yes! While the itinerary is thoughtfully planned to include wellness activities, excursions, and group discussions, there’s also plenty of free time to relax, explore, or enjoy the retreat grounds. Whether you want to journal by the pool, take a nap, or connect with fellow guests, the choice is yours!
Most of your expenses will be covered, including gratuities, but it you want to do a little extra shopping, US dollars and credit cards are generally accepted in all areas. It is recommended that you bring denominations of $20 or less as higher denominations are often not accepted in local shops and markets. If you do spend US dollars, keep in mind that you will receive your change in Costa Rican colones. If you plan to use a credit card, make sure your card does not charge foreign transaction fees.
No. No special vaccinations are needed for visits to Costa Rica.

Travel Plans
Flights Are Not Included
You’ll need to arrange your own flights to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica. Make sure your passport is valid for the entire length of your stay, and you’ll need to show proof of a return flight upon arrival.
Optional Early Arrival or Extended Stay
If you’d like to avoid the morning rush, you can fly in a day early and spend the night near the airport. Hotels like the Hampton by Hilton or Marriott offer free shuttles to SJO, or you can explore budget-friendly options like Airbnb (some as low as $25 per night). This is a great opportunity to rest, relax, and maybe even explore San José before the retreat begins!

Passport Requirements
Before you travel, double-check that your passport meets the following requirements:
- Validity: Your passport must be valid for the entire length of your stay.
- Blank Pages: Ensure you have at least one blank page for entry stamps.
- Tourist Visa: Not required for stays under 180 days, but you must have a return ticket.
